Hiring Department The University of Texas Permian Basin's Department of Human Performance welcomes applications for the position of a tenure-track assistant or associate professor.
Salary Range Salary is highly competitive based on candidate qualifications Essential Functions The faculty member will join a growing department with research activities spanning diverse areas of Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Biomechanics and Human Performance.
The Department of Human Performance is especially interested in candidates with experience serving underserved groups who will contribute to the diversity and excellence mission of the University.
Applicants must have demonstrated leadership skills (contributes through direct teaching, research/scholarship, and service).
Serves as a role model in these areas.
, relevant administrative experience, and a commitment to the education and mentorship of students and faculty.
This is an in-person position and faculty may be assigned to teach either in person or using remote technologies in undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the department.
Applicants without teaching experience have access to a faculty mentoring program, and a range of developmental activities for faculty, supported by the Heimmermann Center for Engaged Teaching.
The Faculty member reports to the Chair of the Department of Human Performance in the College of Health Sciences and Human Performance (CoHSHP).
The department chair is responsible for consulting with and representing the interest of department faculty on policies, plans, and procedures that affect the department.
Assist in the facilitation of the accreditation process for the undergraduate and graduate levels Assist in the program development through curricular revisions, faculty development, and program assessment to meet accreditation standards Teach courses based on program and college needs, based on expertise or specialization Mentor and support undergraduate and graduate students Provide academic advising to students Engage in service to the department, college, university, and profession Recruit and retain students Required Qualifications • Terminal degree in a discipline appropriate for the department (e.

Schedule Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch.
The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department.
Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions 1.
