POSITION: Campus Support Monitor
EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Campus Principal

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE:
Six months of work-related experience; including some experience working with children, youth leadership, coaching, and/or counseling preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student code of conduct
Resolve conflict or confrontation between students and report disturbances to immediate supervisor
Investigate complaints, disturbances, or violations
Control traffic and parking on campus grounds
Register student vehicles and maintain accurate records of registration
Document, record and report vandalism and car accidents and prepare activity reports for theft
Assist law enforcement personnel as needed
Give directions or escort students, authorized visitors, disruptive individuals or cargo to designated locations
Monitor entrance or exit of persons, as needed
Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and properties and prevent passage of prohibited articles into school areas
Attend extra-curricular activities and graduation to provide student supervision, when necessary
Maintain a good working relationship and professional demeanor with security personnel, DISD staff, students, parents, and community members
Monitor alarm system to detect emergencies and notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention
Warn persons of minor infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary
Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position
Qualification Requirements

Demonstrated ability to recognize public safety hazards
Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflict situations is a plus
Investigate complaints, disturbances, or violations
Control traffic and parking on campus grounds
Knowledge of relevant security equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective school security operations for the protection of people, data and property is a plus
Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world
